Training
TAPS Center provides training to all officers, teachers and juvenile justice workers interested in building bridges between the at-risk youth and law enforcement with most training performed by TAPS Center co-founders Dr. Everette B. Penn, criminologist and Mr. Brian Lumpkin, Assistant Chief (Ret.) from the Houston Police Department.
We provide specialized training in:

Each TAPS Officer receives six hours of training in:
- History and Philosophy of TAPS
- Teen Brain
- Implicit and Explicit Bias
- 21st Century Policing
- Effective Listening and Teaching Skills with Youth
- Doing TAPS Academy in your City
- Role Play, Test and Presentation
