Meet Houston area leaders where they work; learn leadership from faculty at Houston universities particularly that of the University of Houston- Clear Lake’s Public Service Leadership Program; participate in service-learning projects; and learn how to prepare for college, and your career. Gain skill to prepare your child to be the next generation of leaders through the Public Service Leadership Institute (PSLI). The Institute is led by Dr. Everette B. Penn, former Program Chair at the University of Houston's Department of Cultural and Social Sciences where he led the formation of the Public Service Leadership degree. Faculty from the program as well as other Houston area universities will bring out the leader in each youth through hands-on leadership activities, behind the scenes field trips, meeting public leaders, and service-learning.

Behind the scenes field trips in which youth get to ask tough questions and learn from the experts include:

Harris County Courthouse

Hobby Airport

Houston Police Department

Houston City Hall

Medical Center

NASA 

Each youth will learn more about self as they develop their leadership potential as they prepare for college and explore career opportunities.

Who should attend: High School government leaders, those interested in a career in government or the non-profit sector, those looking for volunteer opportunities as they prepare for college, those exploring career options.
